Inspiration
We realized the configuration for xalt's tool is needlessly complex. The file is easily constructed via Abstract Syntax Trees and thus could be a simple app.
What it does
Right now we can save login data and server configurations across multiple synchronization workflows and generate it on demand. It's accessible over a rest api
How we built it
We used Django and leveraged its orm to quickly create a way to save the configurations. We use a library to construct the yaml configs from the database. We also used nuxt to create a work in progress ui that is to serve as an interface to the tool.
Challenges we ran into
We had issues with implementing the frontend due to time constraints. It required more polishing and time than anticipated.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We think the solution to the problem is really good and given more time it could prove to be a step in the right direction for xalt's tool.
What we learned
We learned to better organize responsibilities between teammates. We also had a great insight into the workings and business model of xalt.
What's next for not the beatles
We would love to continue working on the solution to this problem as it's really interesting.
