Inspiration...

As a company, we build AI tools for organizational diagnostics. But they're so much more than just tools. We've seen first-hand how many companies struggle to realize their potential - and how founders can become burned out and even resentful of what used to be their dream and their legacy. Advances in AI have made it possible for us to build solutions that are in reach for organizations that previously could not afford large consulting firms, but we needed a way to show people the value before they commit to a full assessment. EdgeCore AI (Reed & Dan) showed us Bolt and we immediately saw the potential. The friction calculator concept came from a simple insight: leaders know they have inefficiencies, but they can't quantify or simply don't realize exactly what it's costing them.

What we learned

Bolt makes building functional web apps ridiculously fast. What would normally take weeks of development, we can build in hours. The platform handles all the complex stuff while letting us focus on the user experience and business logic. We've now built 6 different apps on Bolt for various user groups - from investor readiness calculators to diagnostic tools.

How we built it

Built entirely with Bolt - no external frameworks needed. The platform generated clean React components with Tailwind styling. JavaScript handles the calculation logic and form events and deploying them to Netlify with automatic builds was seamless.

Challenges we faced

The biggest challenge wasn't technical - it was distilling complex organizational science into a simple, compelling calculator. How do you quantify "leadership clarity gaps" or "internal friction" in a way that feels credible but not overwhelming?

We solved this by focusing on tangible metrics (employee churn, time lost to misalignment) and translating them into clear financial impact.

What's next

This calculator is already driving real business results as a lead generation tool for our ViVo Pulse diagnostic solution. We're planning to build more specialized calculators for different audiences - investors, consultants, HR leaders.

Our next Bolt project? A sales training agent to help us close the leads this calculator generates (sales isn't our strong suit (yet) but hey, there's probably an AI tool for that too).
