We wanted to make a game that is not just played for fun and spend time but also benefits the players. With inspiration from movie Parasite, which deals with wealth gap and social class, we decided develop a game that educates users about economy and how each part interacts with others.
What it does
It educates and allows to visualize the relationships and effects of each industry. Also, they can learn about the unintended consequences as they make a decision that is related to any of the three industries: economics, politics, and psychological
How I built it
We built it using Unity and Unity Collab to work together.
Challenges I ran into
The biggest challenge we faced was lack of time, especially because we changed our project more than a half way passed. In the beginning, the wifi issue was an obstacle to get the project set up. Also, the difference in knowledge about the tool we used was the causation of inefficiency.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We are extremely proud that we finished our project despite the fact that we started after 10:00pm last night. Also, as we try to figure out the initial project by using React Native, we managed to learn to deal with various errors that we came across.
What I learned
We learned to not only manage time but also to make a hard decision of finding an alternative when we were stuck with a strict time limits. This lesson, hopefully, will be a guide to our decision making skills in the future.
What's next for Norps and Surps
We would like to improve mostly on the design because we feel rushed. Also, we would like to add more technical economic factors that contribute to the world.
