Inspiration

We were really inspired by the hit classic Wargames, creating a similar retro-styled terminal based loosely on the story of war games.

What it does

You play as an American supreme general, commanding an offensive against soviet forcers. Try your best to build up your bunkers and factories, taking over countries to bring an end to the red menace stalking the world.

How we built it

We decided to work solely based off the terminal and abandon GUIs, for the most part. This was partly to lean into the retro theme and partly because nobody wanted to learn a game development engine.

Challenges we ran into

This was a first experience for all of us, as we were new to game james. We ran into some issues with working with version control software, and we needed to figure out how to avoid overwriting an hour's worth of work with a premature push.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It feels like we all pulled our own weight, all working together to accomplish a common goal.

What we learned

We learned important lessons about using version control software, as well as how you don't a need a gui to make things look good.

What's next for Non-Proliferation

We envisioned this as a small scale project and unless a publisher shows interest or community develops, it will most likely remain that way.
