Inspiration

There is a social pitfall in the actual society that separates those with comfortable lives able to work from home quietly, to those who need assistance (elderly, unemployed, people with chronic diseases, caregivers...) and to those who did not stop working for minute such as heathcare workers. This project focus in those which many times are consider as outsiders of the "society", minorities such as nomads, migrants and refugees who were caught in a crisis while living another one. Some of these families are not fluent in the native language thus have less access to information and are not up to date with sanitary recommendations; some do not have drinkable water or soap, some live in groups in small spaces. The question is, what can we do to create awareness in these communities and stimulate the adoption of preventive measures?

What it does

Our project provides food, education, legal and medical support to communities who are socially excluded. The focus group are Roma people living in Portugal.

How I built it

This is not a technological project. This was build based in creative methods - Empathize; Define; Ideate and Prototype;

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud of achieving such a structured project that can contribute to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in excluded communities and at the same time set the pace for social inclusion and end discrimination in Europe.
