Inspiration

I was very excited to make a web-application which can be driven by voice. So, to start with a simple project, I thought of creating Noice Voice - Voice-driven Calculator. Using your voice, you can do the calculations!

What it does

Like any simple calculate, it has the basic functionalities like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and find reminder. Along with this, you can give the input with your voice.

How we built it

HTML, CSS and Javascript is used in making this web-app. I've used Web Speech API for speech recognition. Also, I've used jQuery to animate the fade in and fade out of mic color.

Challenges we ran into

As it was my first project based on voice, I faced some problems initially on integrating the speech recognition. I also had options to make the speech recognition continuous and output the interim results, but for the initial versions, I've kept it simple as of now.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The UI of the web-app is looking amazing, it took me time but the end results are just awesome.

What we learned

My first experience working on voice-driven application was great. It needs time to fix the errors as it is voice-driven, but I tried my level best to make the web-app works smoothly and give accurate answers.

What's next for Noice Voice

I'm planning to make use speech recognition to create a coding editor for blinds. The blind people can speak and the text editor would be smart enough to convert that into code.
