Inspiration

I was looking into APIs recently and found some really great ones. I wanted to build a project using an API. A couple days ago, I was using an app to read some books and I found a setting to change the font to OpenDyslexic and thought it was really cool.

What it does

The app is designed to look kind of like a traditional newspaper. There are toggle buttons to change the font to OpenDyslexic and to change the theme to dark mode.

How we built it

We built it with The News API and Angular JS. The app is styled with CSS flex and CSS grid.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some challenges using CSS grid, because it was new to us. We also ran into some problems when trying to make one of the articles in ng-repeat the main article.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the functionality and the styling of the app.

What we learned

We learned how to use CSS grid, and learned a bit about AngularJS ng-class conditionals.

What's next for Nohtakcah Newspaper

Maybe a search bar, and a function to switch between the available news sites.
