Minority groups are devalued in the workforce; this largely untapped reservoir of skill is not being capitalized on. Minorities are often not hired if they are women, handicapped, or nonwhite. I (Yara) experienced this problem firsthand when my mother found out she was paid less than the men who reported to her. Our idea is the NoFace app, where job-searchers can create anonymous profiles with auto-generated usernames and no pictures. Each user’s profile will showcase their resume, skills, and education only. In addition, job interviews are facilitated through the app using a gender-neutral voice transmitter and no camera. NoFace would give every user the opportunities they deserve by showcasing solely their skills. By diversifying the workforce, NoFace can ensure that the next generation will have a brighter, less discriminatory future. It will ensure an end to the gender pay gap and level out the playing field for job applicants globally.
