Inspiration
MLH LHD Build "Build with a Starter Pack" daily challenge.
What it does
Just a plain website.
How I built it
I followed the provided tutorial (https://github.com/MLH/mlh-hackathon-nodejs-starter) and cloned the repo. I downloaded nvm for Windows, then installed Node and npm using nvm. Lastly, I set up a GitHub OAuth app and started the application.
Challenges I ran into
Downloading NodeJS and npm was a challenging, consisting of a few re-installations. It took awhile before I figured out nvm for Windows and to use it to easily install Node and npm.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Completing the installations successfully and pulling up the website.
What I learned
To be careful with installations, and it helps to have a version manager.
What's next for NodeJS Starter Pack
I didn't deploy it yet, but I could using Heroku CLI to deploy the app.
