Inspiration
As college students, we are aware of the inconsistent sleep schedule students have and the potential consequences that can have on their productivity. We wanted an easy and convenient way for students to track their sleep, so they can visualize their sleep patterns and make adjustments to it as they see fit.
What it does
In Noctune, you are able to enter the time you went to sleep, the number of hours slept, a number to describe morning drowsiness, and a productivity rating. The daily entry is saved, and a list of all sleep entries are able to be viewed.
How we built it
We used HTML and JavaScript to code everything in VSCode.
Challenges we ran into
We did not know how to add different design elements into the UI to enhance the user experience, but the fundamental aspects of the project work successfully.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the concept of Noctune. We think that it can genuinely be beneficial to people who want to track their sleep to make adjustments. This can help students become more productive by altering their sleep schedules in any way they see fit.
What we learned
We learned how to integrate back-end coding and design with front-end graphics and UI.
What's next for Noctune
We want to make Noctune even more helpful to people. We want to provide graphs to illustrate users' sleep patterns. We also want to implement tips that can assist users to help them to reach a healthy sleep schedule to maximize their productivity as students.
