Description

Everyone, regardless age, gender and ability receive achievable challenges to live a life where physical activity plays a central role. In our effort to engage with those left behind, we opt for offering a positive, light-hearted and fun approach to exercise. Individuals on activity rewards programmes are more than twice as active as those who are not (Devar & Hattingh, 2020) and women report greater social benefits from the use of gamification (Koivisto, J., & Hamari, J., 2014). A gamification approach to exercise prescription has the potential to improve exercise uptake (Stuart, A. 2014).

Noa (Movement in Hebrew) is a female qualified personal trainer with a disability, who will challenge you to keep physically active during COVID-19 and beyond! Based on behaviour-change theory and gamification, Noa will create engaging challenges and use available resources, apps and assistive devices to optimize the user experience! You’ve never had a personal trainer available 24/7 for you before.

An exciting and inclusive journey is awaiting you. Complete regular challenges to keep you motivated and scale from being a couch potato (level 1) up to an Olympian God (level 100). All challenges provided will be accompanied by safety instructions and a set of adaptations to ensure that everyone can perform them. You will be able to either exercise on your own or connect with clubs and members of your local community. Also, you will learn facts and theories that will make you optimize your health and wellbeing.

Noa will be spearheading a collective action to increase physical activity opportunities for everyone during COVID-19 and after. Sport organisations will be invited to contribute and join to this unified sectoral action to address global issues defined in the Sustainable Development Goals and Kazan Action Plan (SDG 1, 3, 4, 5 10, 11, 17 and KAP policies I.1 / I.2 / I.5 / I.7 / II.1 / II.2/ II.4/ II.6). Our societies are diverse and so it is the sport sector. This diversity needs to be harnessed in order to empower everyone to move more and more often, specially people with disabilities, women, indigenous populations etc. We will invite a diverse range of stakeholders to be part of this initiative to maximise the impact of Noa.
