Inspiration

"Digital Heartbeat" was inspired by the idea of finding a unique, human voice amidst the overwhelming noise of our digital lives. As a solo creator, my goal was to see if the new wave of generative AI tools could empower me to tell a powerful, cinematic story that would normally require a full production team and a massive budget. This is my first-ever music video.

What it does

This project is a professional-quality, 1.5-minute music video for the original song "Digital Heartbeat" .It tells the story of a young woman's journey from isolation in a conformist society to finding her own voice and power, sparked by a rebellious rap artist. It's a complete audio-visual narrative.

How we built it

The project was built using a complete end-to-end AI-powered workflow. First I've use Perplexity Pro Research to build system prompts (one as a Music Producer, another one as a Video Director) and up-to-date prompting guides for any AI model or tools used. I've then used Gemini 2.5 Pro in Google AI Studio to guide me with the creative direction for the music process as well as the music video. The music was generated with Suno v5 Pro Beta model. The narrative, characters (NOA & LUNA BLITZ), and shot list were developed with Gemini 2.5 Pro in Google AI Studio. All visuals were created on the Higgsfield platform, using Seedream 4.0 High (4K) for characters creation, master frames and Seedance Pro for video animation along with Wan 2.5 Speak for lipsync. The final edit was assembled in Wondershare Filmora.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was maintaining character facial consistency in wide shots, which required a strategic pivot to more intimate medium shots and close-ups. Achieving perfect lipsync during high-energy scenes was also difficult, forcing me to simplify camera moves to help the AI focus on the performance. Another significant challenge was generating dynamic, high-energy performance scenes. While the AI is excellent at lipsync with a stable camera, instructing it to create energetic dancing or specific, rhythmic hand gestures was incredibly difficult. The results were often chaotic and nonsensical, with unnatural or distorted movements. Overcoming this required simplifying the prompts to focus on more controlled, precise motions, sacrificing some of the planned wide-shot choreography for more achievable and powerful close-up performances. One last challenge: the costs! I didn't have a huge budget ($100 maximum) and the credits were consumed quickly. It heavily influenced my choice of AI models and made me shorten the music video as the original song is 3 minutes long.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am incredibly proud of creating a complete, cohesive, and emotionally resonant music video as a solo creator for my first time. I successfully created two iconic, consistent characters and built a believable world for them. The final video was produced in just 2.5 days for under $100.

What we learned

I learned that AI is not an "easy button," but an incredibly powerful creative partner. It requires precise instruction, rapid problem-solving, and a clear directorial vision. This project taught me a complete workflow for AI filmmaking, from concept to final export. My biggest takeaway is that this project was a true human-AI collaboration. While I relied on Gemini 2.5 Pro as a creative director and music producer assistant, I constantly had to guide its suggestions, troubleshoot technical limitations, and rethink entire scenes based on the AI's outputs. Gemini's ability to analyze audio, image, and video was invaluable for making aesthetic decisions and judging my work. It became clear that neither of us could have done this alone; the project's success came from this seamless partnership.

The next step is to share "Digital Heartbeat" with the world! The goal is to see how audiences react to a professionally crafted music video that is transparent about its AI-assisted creation, hopefully inspiring other solo creators to tell their own stories.
