Inspiration
The idea illuminated our minds when we noticed that the number of people doing the hajj is growing every year which makes it more challenging regarding the organizing process. And with the growing number of Pilgrims we wanted to develop an idea that facilitates with keeping the pass checking process smooth especially for big groups of pilgrims.
What it does
For the purpose of overcoming one of the most challenging points in the hajj which is the organization of the crowd, we "NO8TA" Team have decided to develop a simple idea to overcome the difficulty of identifying people who obtain hajj pass from those who don’t. We simply decided to develop the image processing technology to scan a car plate numbers on each bus which connects it with the database to check all the necessary information about the bus, for example, the number of the pilgrims, the responsible company for the group and the Itinerary of the group
How we built it
As the simple as the idea is. we use the image processing technology, which transforms the bus plate number to a text. And the text will be compared to the updated database in the application. Once the test is compared to the database, a series of information shall be cleared containing the responsible company, the numbers of the passengers and the itinerary of the group and whether the bus is authorized to pass or not. After processing the information of the car or the bus either a green light will be given to the car or the red light. The technology that is used is a combination between the unity and the programming language " PYTHON" , PYTHON for data analyzing and the unity facilitates the image processing into a text.
Challenges we ran into
The challenge we faced is using two different platforms during the process and combining them together for better performance. The image processing technology can also be considered as a challenge for its limit usage. Overcoming these challenges is the key to achieve success & efficiency during the security pass checking process.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
As "No8ta" team, we consider the process of analyzing the image to data as our succession step its our first tial . We used google vision cloud AI to facilitate detecting the text also we used python to analyse the bus trips data and to communicate with our AR model as a server.
What we learned
We learned not only the skill of combining two different platforms in one process but also the art of choosing an idea with a beneficial revenue which later can be transformed into a successful business idea.
What's next for no8ta
Any business company starts with an idea, we believe that our idea is a solid core to a company that can later facilitate the process of security check for cars entering any governmental facility.
