Inspiration

We were doing the Hardware Schedule lessons for Technica and once we got to the LCD lesson we decided we wanted to do something with the display. We thought Heads Up would be a good game that uses a display to improve once we thought about how frustrating it gets sometimes.

What it does

It randomizes a set of prompts (animals) for the user to guess and it utilizes the infrared remote and sensor to change the prompts and keep track of the user score. After a minute, the game ends and shows the user score.

How we built it

We used the Arduino Starter Kit sent to us and its respective software to set up the LCD screen and code the program.

Challenges we ran into

Getting the prompts to cycle individually. Getting the potentiometer to stay in the breadboard. Figuring out how to code specific buttons on the remote when the values keep changing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the LCD to display and cycle through the prompts. Learning about circuits and sensors

What we learned

We learned about circuits, arduinos, wiring, sensors, infrared remotes, c++
