No Stomach Left Behind

Inspiration

As residents of Hudson County, we have experienced first hand the economic impacts of COVID-19. Within our communities the increased dependence on food banks has become apparent and we wanted to create a mobile application that will make the whole process more efficient and accessible to ourselves and our neighbors.

What it does

No Stomach Left Behind is a mobile app to help those who manage these food banks by: keeping an inventory of what resources are available, post what donations are needed, and connect them with other citizens and food banks.

How we built it

The app was built by the prototyping tool Figma, to demonstrate the UI features of the app that the users will experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the challenges we ran into were organizing the list of food banks in Hudson County and gathering the proper information.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to work together and communicate effectively despite the virtual environment. We are also proud of designing a simple and straight forward app that the people of Hudson County will benefit from.

What we learned

It was our first time designing with Figma so we got to learn how to use a new tool that will help us with future projects, and we learned more about the resources that are available in Hudson County.
