Inspiration
This video was inspired by the paradox of our times: how we often watch the destruction of our planet as spectators — as if it were a game. Using anthropomorphic animals sitting in a football stadium, the piece turns nature into the audience, reflecting our own apathy and fascination with disaster. Each animal represents a human trait — curiosity, detachment, fear, and hope. It’s not a match we can win. Because climate change isn’t a game — it’s what we’re already losing.
What it does
The video reimagines a football match as a metaphor for climate change. The animals in the stands become silent witnesses of a game where no one truly wins. Through surreal and cinematic AI-generated imagery, it confronts how humanity turns catastrophe into spectacle.
How we built it
The piece was created using a combination of Veo and Sora for AI video generation. Post-production, editing, and sound design were completed in Premiere Pro , focusing on pacing, tone, and emotional coherence.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing visual surrealism with emotional realism was a challenge. AI sometimes generated inconsistent animal motion and facial structure, requiring multiple iterations to maintain symbolic coherence. Another challenge was evoking emotion without showing human behavior.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to convey a complex idea — the trivialization of climate change — through metaphor rather than direct depiction. The video maintains symbolic depth, emotional resonance, and aesthetic consistency without using dialogue or human characters.
What we learned
We learned how AI video tools like Veo and Sora can be used not just to generate content, but to express metaphor, irony, and emotion. The process reinforced that direction, editing rhythm, and narrative intent remain key to turning technology into art.
What's next for NO SE JUEGA, SE SUFRE
We plan to expand the concept into a series of short AI films exploring other global crises through symbolic and surreal imagery — continuing to blur the line between human indifference and digital reflection.
