Inspiration
My inspiration for this project began with the first No Kings protests across the U.S. on June 14, 2025. I had been moved to write a song about the raver code P.L.U.R. (peace, love, unity, respect) for a while and the movement gave me direction. Once I had the songs, I was determined to make a compelling music video that encapsulated the story I wanted to tell and inspire people to fight fascism with love.
What it is
A music video to complement a progressive house EDM song that imagines a living goddess Gaia caring for the Earth, then zooms in to view a peaceful-protest-turned-rave on the White House lawn, transitioning to a beach party (location inspired by pre-war Gaza). It is a utopian vision of love and acceptance to fight hatred and discrimination.
How I built it
Once inspiration hit for the song, I wrote the lyrics and crafted a detailed prompt on Suno, iterating over a number of styles, making variations, remastering, performing edits, and downloading stems. I then took the stems into Bitwig (digital audio workstation) to composite variations, edit vocals, add effects, EQ and final mastering. I developed a custom visual style for album art in Midjourney then used that to generate art to use as starting images for the video. I utilized Photoshop to edit the images and Nano Banana to create new frames to help tell the story I envisioned. I developed a workflow in Kling to generate frame-based video iterations, chaining curated iterations together to create the arrangement. A few video elements were generated in Veo when Kling was less effective. Upscaling and final composite with audio was performed in CapCut.
Challenges I ran into
I was severely hampered by credit limits, so efficiency and careful prompting was crucial. I ran into a few limitations with Kling's capabilities in a few scenes so I had to utilize Veo.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
This is my first full-length music video with no content repetition. The idea of creating a 2-minute video with AI that tells a cohesive story seemed impossible a year ago.
What I learned
It was the first time I had used the beta workspace in Kling and I heartily enjoyed it. I will be looking forward to working in that way again in the future. I also really pushed Nano Banana's editing capabilities and have a better understanding of it's use cases.
What's next for No Kings P.L.U.R. (House VIP) Music Video
The song is enjoying great reception on Spotify, so I am hopeful that the video will garner some attention as well.
