Inspiration

I have always wanted to work on car mechanic for a game and I used this opportunity to work on it. I got the inspiration for No Brakes (Remix) from a popular online game "No Hesi". You drive your car at high speed and increase your score as you avoid car traffic and take risks like near misses.

What it does

No Brakes (Remix) presents you with both Mobile and VR controls to smoothly control your car on high speed. Increase your points by maneuvering through the traffic and collect diamonds for car upgrades.

How we built it

I built No Brakes (Remix) to be highly configurable to allow for other developers to use in their remixable worlds. There are lots of resources like Player Car, NPC Car, Player Portal, NPC Despawners, to name a few that makes remixing the world easy. We also provided instructions that ranges from beginners to advanced to help developers configure the world at their own level.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge in building the world is making everything modular for remixable world. I have to consider each variable I use and who else will need to change that variable during remix. At the same time, I don't want to make everything configurable to not overwhelm the developers. Striking a balance was a challenge that I was able to solve.

What we learned

The project helped me to learn how to build for other developers in horizon world. There are things to consider like when and how to include assets in game or from asset folder.

What's next for No Brakes (Remix)

I hope to use the No Brakes (Remix) to remix a version of the game which will be called No Brakes. :)
