Inspiration

Every office has that one person who’s physically at the desk but mentally somewhere else. Inspired by Jim from The Office, we wanted to capture that deadpan comedy, subtle flirting, and the relatable escapism we all experience at work.

What it does

NO BOSS is a short comedic video where the main character, Jim, drifts into a daydream whenever the boss assigns work. Inside his dream, he's in the same office—but there’s no boss, just a girl he likes, a calm vibe, and an endless loop of "perfect office moments." Reality keeps interrupting, but Jim keeps returning to his dream world.

How we built it

images with chat gpt and nano banana Used Grok Imagin and Kling to generate dream and office scene visual elements. With Dreamina, we refined and stylized office environments into subtle "imagination mode." Minimax handled the audio, including ambient sound shifts between reality and the dream sequences. Suno for bg music.

Edited everything together manually to blend deadpan humor with seamless transitions between fantasy and reality—all with a Jim-style vibe.

Comedy is all about timing—even more so when you’re doing deadpan humor. Subtle storytelling often requires more effort than dramatic scenes Good editing makes a huge difference in conveying an idea or feeling.
