Inspiration
As both readers and writers, we've come across many works where there is always a "no beta we die like..." tag, meaning that these authors lack editors for their writings.
What it does
In order to solve this problem, we wanted to create a platform where writers around the world can seek feedback conveniently, improve their works, and be able to communicate with other authors.
How we built it
We utilized HTML, CSS, Swift, knowledge of web design and aesthetics to build this platform from scratch.
Challenges we ran into
The web shell and server system hosting our website crashed so we had to wait for it to start back up. Additionally, orchestra region was on Saturday, so our progress was greatly hindered on the first day of the competition.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We came up with a pleasing color scheme, website design, and coded everything on a terminal in a few hours.
What we learned
We learned about how teamwork can evoke the distribution of ideas amongst group members and enhance creative mindsets to produce sound results. Working together really helps with progress!
What's next for No Beta We Die Like Men
There are obviously going to be improvements to the website, such as a better-looking UI, more functions to do with accepting view requests for writings, a built-in communication system for the editor and writer to converse, and so on. Additionally, in the future, we might implement a system that can allow multiple authors and editors to work together instead of just a pair.
