Challenges we ran into
Projects require ideas. Whether it be for an app, website, game, knowing about it early on in the process helps guide decisions and move things along. Our team spent time running through different ideas but in the end, we voted on an idea unanimously which in turn led to a smoother process. Also for the new joined members for this year, there is a lot of stuck parts for them. At the very beginning our front end members were stuck messed up the git files. But the problem was finally solved after our experienced member carry.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Efficient workflow process in a short span of time amid a global pandemic. We utilized virtual resources, built Nutritionville to help everyone, and made new friends. But not just that, we mostly proud of the good relationship we built to each others. During the development we had almost zero complains to each others. We all listen to each others to keep us on track.
What we learned
In our group we have different coding life experience member, we did well communication to each others. Our main center member was Petr Mitsel, he taught and lead the team go through every problem. During the process Petr as a back end developer helped front end (Mary&Jinyi) to solve the issue and these allow Petr more proficiency to use git. Also for Mary & Jinyi, two newbies who unfamiliar with website design had gain much experience while building 'Nutritionville'!
What's next for Nutritionville
We look ahead to add more features including a library of exercises and nutrition education. We hope to grow our recipes page to include instructional videos and provide information about where people can access affordable healthy foods in their areas. Launching an app for mobile devices would be later down the line so have information handy.
