Inspiration

When we first explored NMTSA’s website, we saw an organization doing incredible work, but its digital presence didn’t reflect it. The site was cluttered, forms were scattered, and it was difficult for families, donors, and volunteers to find what they needed. We wanted to change that by creating something functional, beautiful, and easy to use, a website that truly matches the heart and impact of NMTSA.

What it does

Our project makes NMTSA’s website simple, modern, and easy for everyone to use. We brought all of their different features, therapy programs, volunteer and internship sign-ups, donation options, and even their merchandise store, together in one place with straightforward navigation and structure. Now, families can easily learn about NMTSA’s therapy programs and request services without searching through multiple pages. Students and professionals can apply for internships, consultations, or observation sessions directly through organized forms. Volunteers can sign up to help, and donors can give or sponsor with confidence, knowing exactly where their contributions go. We also built an admin panel that allows NMTSA’s team to handle everything themselves, editing content, checking form responses, updating merchandise, and tracking donations, all without needing to code. It’s a complete system that gives them full control and keeps things easy to manage. In short, our project turns a complicated website into one connected platform where everyone, from families and volunteers to donors and staff, can find what they need quickly and effortlessly. It helps NMTSA spend less time on tech issues and more time doing what they do best: changing lives through music therapy.

How we built it

We completely restructured the site map and user flow to make every page purposeful and intuitive. Our team used modern web development tools to build the front-end and the admin panel. We focused on accessibility, responsiveness, and long-term sustainability, ensuring the website can grow with NMTSA’s needs. Every feature was designed to reduce manual work and help the staff manage their digital presence efficiently.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was simplifying many scattered features, multiple Google forms, donation pages, and event links, into a single, clean structure. We also had to ensure the admin panel was powerful enough to manage everything, but still simple enough for a non-technical user. Balancing flexibility with ease of use took a lot of testing and iteration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud that we created a complete ecosystem -- not just a redesign. We streamlined every process from service requests to donations. Built a complete CMS and form management system that doesn’t require technical skills. Made it possible for volunteers, interns, and donors to engage easily. Most importantly, we gave NMTSA complete control of its digital presence. Seeing how smooth and welcoming the new site feels was the best part of this project.

What we learned

We learned how to approach nonprofit tech solutions with empathy and practicality, designing for real people, not just for functionality. We also learned how much impact good information architecture and a simple admin dashboard can have on organizations that don’t have tech support.

What's next for LoopIT- NMTSA

Next, we plan to integrate analytics and reporting tools into the admin panel so NMTSA can track engagement, donations, and volunteer applications more efficiently. We also want to add accessibility testing, form automation, and donation receipt generation. Our goal is to continue improving this system so nonprofits like NMTSA can focus more on their mission, not their maintenance.
