Inspiration

The inspiration behind Nix AI came from watching a loved one struggle to recall medical history during urgent care. Hospitals were visited, symptoms repeated, but nothing was clearly tracked or shared. That moment sparked a vision: a digital health companion that remembers everything, detects patterns, and bridges communication between patients, families, and doctors. Nix was created to give people control over their health story—smartly, securely, and in real time—so no important detail is ever missed again when it matters most.

What it does

Nix AI agent is a system that is smarter, patient-centered health companion that goes beyond traditional medical records. In a world where symptoms are overlooked and vital trends missed, Nix empowers individuals to track their well-being daily, recognize recurring issues, and securely share critical health insights with loved ones or doctors—creating a proactive, connected, and personalized approach to long-term healthcare management.Nx ai agent tracks long term diseases based on records and data gathered helping recognise diseases that may not be noticable

How we built it

The building of Nix AI was a carefully planned process focused on combining real-time performance with strong data privacy. We chose Supabase as the backend to manage authentication, real-time database sync, and secure row-level access, which allowed each patient to have a protected, isolated data space. For the frontend, we used TypeScript with Vite to ensure a fast, modern development experience, enabling efficient builds and hot module reloading. CSS was used to style the UI with a clean, minimal health-tech aesthetic. Together, these tools allowed us to quickly prototype and scale features like symptom tracking, hospital logs, and secure data sharing. Supabase Edge Functions were later added to automate trend detection and deliver instant alerts, making Nix both powerful and intelligent.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges designing a flexible yet structured schema to handle varied symptom inputs. Implementing role-based data sharing securely using Supabase’s RLS policies required deep testing. Syncing real-time updates across multiple devices while keeping performance smooth was tricky. Balancing privacy, accessibility, and medical accuracy also demanded careful planning and iterations.

Accomplishments that we're proud

What we learned

I’ve learned how to integrate Supabase for real-time, secure data management and how to use TypeScript with Vite for efficient frontend development. I also gained deeper understanding of role-based access, healthcare data structuring, and the importance of user-friendly design in sensitive health-related applications.

What's next for Nix AI

Next for Nix is expanding its AI capabilities to provide smarter health predictions and proactive care suggestions. We plan to integrate wearable device data (like Fitbit or Apple Health), add multilingual support, and build a clinician dashboard for easier professional access. A mobile app version with offline tracking is also in development, along with exploring compliance for healthcare standards like HIPAA to prepare for real-world deployment in medical environments.
