Inspiration

Niusta AI was born from a profound personal journey through infertility, repeated miscarriages, and ultimately, the miraculous arrival of our son, Rafael. This experience revealed a critical, unmet need: the overwhelming isolation and lack of empathetic support for women navigating similar paths. To grasp the sheer scale of this challenge, consider that every minute, 44 women worldwide experience a miscarriage, and millions of couples are currently navigating infertility. This represents a vast, underserved market. Existing digital tools often felt cold, generic, and failed to acknowledge the deep emotional landscape of grief, hope, and the unique challenges faced, such as the differing emotional processing of partners. My 'why' became clear: no woman should ever walk this difficult path feeling alone. Niusta AI is my answer to that silent struggle, a platform built from lived experience to provide the understanding and community I desperately sought.

What it does

Niusta AI is a compassionate digital companion designed to provide empathetic support for women experiencing infertility, miscarriage, and baby loss. It offers a unique blend of AI-powered personalized interaction, structured healing modules, and a secure community space.

Key features include:

2.1. Curated AI Chatbox: An empathetic AI companion, designed to acknowledge grief, validate sadness, and celebrate every tiny victory. Proudly, our AI assistant is “smart”. It adapts the submodules in the journey module according to your needs within a limited frame of options, based on the healing journey you select in the onboarding section.

2.2. Healing Journey Module: A guided module that supports emotional well-being through practical tools. This includes guided breathing exercises for de-stressing and decompressing, also leveraging ElevenLabs for soothing audio (we are very proud of this 😊).

2.3. Partner Understanding Space: A unique section within the Journey Module dedicated to bridging emotional gaps by explaining how partners might process loss and emotions differently, addressing a significant pain point for many women (did loads of research on tiktok comments). This is truly a USP.

2.4. Private Community Space: A secure, intimate community platform, allowing users to create private groups, share experiences without judgment, and build genuine, lasting connections.

How we built it

Niusta AI was conceived and developed during the intense Hackathon organized by Bolt.new. Our development process prioritized empathy-driven design and rapid prototyping to bring this essential solution to life. We utilized:

3.1. Supabase and Express Server for back-end.

3.2. ElevenLabs and Google text to speech: For generating highly empathetic, human-like voice responses within the chatbox and providing guided audio for the healing modules, ensuring a truly comforting user experience.

3.3. AI Research: Claude 4 and Gemini

Challenges we ran into

4.1. Balancing Empathy & Functionality: Designing a UI/UX that felt genuinely warm and supportive, rather than cold or clinical, while still providing robust tracking and informational features, demanded constant iteration and user-centric focus.

4.2. Time Constraints: The compressed hackathon timeline pushed our limits, requiring swift decision-making and efficient problem-solving.

4.3. Learning Vibe Coding from 0: it was challenging to learn such an amount of tools and technical skills given that we have no previous coding knowledge

4.4. API Integration Complexity: Seamlessly integrating external AI within the hackathon's tight timeframe, while ensuring a smooth user experience, was a considerable technical hurdle. Specifically, managing the backend processes for real-time voice generation and ensuring the seamless flow of AI-powered empathetic responses was very challenging.

Pioneering Empathetic AI: Creating an AI-powered chat experience that prioritizes emotional validation and celebration, setting a new standard for compassionate tech in women's health. We are particularly proud of the intelligence of our AI tool, which proactively guides the user to applicable modules and minimizes clicks, ensuring a seamless and highly interactive experience.

Addressing Overlooked Pain Points: Specifically tackling the critical need for partner understanding in the fertility journey, a feature largely absent in other platforms.

In this evolving landscape, the ability to generate compelling ideas and effectively distribute them will be among the most valuable skills, alongside the strategic understanding of intellectual property.

Monetization Strategy: Implementing our freemium model to ensure long-term sustainability, allowing us to continue providing invaluable support to women worldwide.
