Inspiration
Government-funded infrastructure projects often involve large budgets, multiple contractors, invoices, and complex approval processes, making financial misuse difficult for citizens to detect. We wanted to build a system where public funds are transparent, traceable, and accountable.
What We Built
We built a blockchain-powered anti-corruption platform for public infrastructure projects.
The system records government fund allocation, contractor transactions, invoices, approvals, and project milestones on an immutable blockchain ledger. An AI verification layer analyzes invoices and spending patterns to identify suspicious or inconsistent transactions.
Citizens can:
- Track project progress and government spending
- Verify reported infrastructure development
- View invoices and expenditure records
- Access information in multiple languages
- Generate and submit grievance letters
How It Works
Government → Fund Allocation → Blockchain Ledger → Contractor Spending → Invoice Verification → AI Fraud Analysis → Project Progress → Citizen Verification
Blockchain provides tamper-resistant records, while AI adds an intelligent layer for detecting potential financial irregularities.
Challenges
One of our main challenges was designing a system that combines blockchain transparency with AI-based financial verification while keeping the platform understandable for citizens and scalable for real-world government projects.
What We Learned
We learned how blockchain can be used beyond cryptocurrency—as an accountability layer for public systems—and how AI can complement immutable records by identifying patterns that may indicate financial anomalies.
Future Scope
We plan to integrate government procurement systems, real-time project updates, stronger AI fraud detection, multilingual support, and wider citizen participation to create a scalable digital accountability infrastructure for public spending.3
