Inspiration

Hospitals around the world are overwhelmed. I was reading an article about how an older person gave up his ventilator for someone young with a higher chance of survival. It was not an individual case. I do not have the resources or power to somehow boost production. However, I came upon another article showing how there is an uneven distribution of resources. A hospital might have a surplus of one thing but lack of another. There is an immediate need for hospitals to be able to share those resources among themselves, it might take too long for government authorities to pool resources and re-distribute them according to patient density. So I decided to come up with an app that can help hospitals find other hospitals and share resources regionally.

What it does

Step 1

The app enables hospitals to register themselves and upload things that they have a surplus of or are able to share with nearby hospitals, this might include bed space.

Step 2

If a hospital requires some kind of resources say N95 masks, They can search it up and look through the list of hospitals who are up for sharing or selling them sorted by shortest distance.

Step 3

The hospital will give them a call and can arrange for transportation of the resources.

It will save time in approaching authorities( and any other procedure included) or calling and enquiring hospitals one by one. This might by-pass lots of formal procedures that usually take place but at this point in time, we are running out of it.

How I built it

I have created a mockup of the idea using Adobe XD and the wireframer plugin.

Challenges I ran into

  1. Low on time ( found the hackathon really late)

  2. Working on University Assignments at the same time

3.Slow internet connection

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  1. Recently elected as the President of the University's robotics and embedded society.

  2. "Best Robotics Project" in Hello World Hackathon.

What I learned

There are thousands of workers/researchers working right now to solve a problem with all their skills. I realized how it is also my responsibility to work or at least try to help people with as much as skills I have. It would be meaningless to learn if I would never try to help people with what I have learnt.

What's next for Nisvas

I will work on to find how much of a direct impact the idea can have, and eventually, find a team to make it real. Lots of emails to lots of people to make sure it reaches as much as hospitals possible.
