Inspiration
Our inspiration came from our own family. Our grandfather runs a small local shop, and Muskan helps him keep track of daily income and expenses. Everything was written on paper, which often led to mistakes, lost records, and difficulty understanding the shop's financial performance. We wanted to build a simple digital solution that even small business owners could use without needing accounting knowledge.
What it does
NishaFinance Tracker is an AI-powered finance management platform designed for small shop owners and micro businesses.
It allows users to:
Record income and expenses using text or voice. View total earnings, expenses, and savings in real time. Analyze financial performance through simple charts. Discover useful government schemes for small businesses. Ask an AI assistant questions about the application's features and financial information.
The goal is to make financial management simple, accessible, and less stressful for small business owners.
How we built it
We built NishaFinance Tracker using Python, Flask, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the application. The dashboard was designed to be clean and easy to understand. Voice input was added to simplify transaction entry, and an AI chatbot was integrated to guide users through the platform and answer their questions.
Challenges we ran into
One of our biggest challenges was designing an interface that would be simple enough for first-time users while still providing useful financial insights. Integrating voice-based transaction entry and organizing financial data into meaningful analytics also required careful planning.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we built a working application that solves a real problem faced by our own family. The dashboard is easy to use, the voice transaction feature makes data entry faster, and the AI assistant helps users understand the platform without needing technical knowledge.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned how software can solve everyday problems. We improved our understanding of web development, user experience design, AI integration, and the importance of building products based on real user needs rather than assumptions.
What's next for NishaFinance Tracker
In the future, we plan to:
Add automatic bill and receipt scanning. Provide multilingual support for more Indian languages. Generate monthly financial reports. Add AI-powered business insights and spending recommendations. Launch a mobile application so small business owners can manage their finances anywhere.
