Inspiration
We all felt a mental setback during the lockdown phase of covid. This made our team realise that lockdown only increased the feeling of lonliness, anxiety and sadness which we all already have in our daily lives in some aspect or the other. So we made this web app so that people can get free mental health consultation from their home and lead better lives.
What it does
The app does 3 things -
1. Login/Signup:
The users can signup using their email address
2. Mental Health Test:
In this free online test, user has to answer 10 questions, each of which contains four choices. The user is awarded points on the basis of a set points system.
3. Physical Health Test:
In this free online test, user has to answer 10 questions, each of which contains four choices. The user is awarded points on the basis of the following points system.
4. Make an appointment:
The user can make an appointment to a doctor as per their convenience but this can only be done after the user has logged in to application. If the appointment is successful the user will be notified via an email.
How we built it
Technologies used:
- For backend and server - Node.js, Express.js
- For frontend markup and styling - HTML, CSS, Bootstrap
- For templating - Ejs
- Version control - Git and github
- Hosting service - Heroku
Challenges we ran into
- How to host the website to heroku.
- Where to get an official questionnaire which judges people's health based on their answers.
- Login/Signup
- What design we should come up with so that the website looks good and looks pleasing and welcoming to people who want to book an appointment.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- We are mainly proud of our idea and the thought behind our idea. This is because we all have personally faced these issues in one way or another and we are happy that our code will be able to solve a real world problem.
What's next for Nirogi - Heath Website
- We have yet to implement the database and the login and signup, so we were thinking of implementing that. Also, the book a consultation feature is not yet implemented as we were short on time.
