Inspiration
COVID -19 has a long-term impact on people's mental and physical health all over the world. Many places are blocked to avoid the further spread of COVID-19. Many people aren't able to visit hospitals to treat their sickness due to COVID restrictions. When our team started thinking about what to build, one of our teammates came up with an idea to help people tackle their mental sickness by connecting them to doctors virtually.
What it does
Doctors and Patients can signup on our platform. Patients have a dashboard where they can select one of the registered doctors and schedule virtual calls for consultation. Likewise, Doctors also have a dashboard to manage their patients and schedule virtual appointments.
How we built it
We built this app using the React.js framework, and the CSS framework Tailwind for the front-end. We have Spring Boot, a Java-based framework, for the backend.
Challenges we ran into
Our team members are from different time zones which have been a trouble to work collaboratively. Yet, we managed to build the web app without any issues.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are able to successfully build and deploy Niramaya in such a short time.
What we learned
Many of our team members have used new technologies to build Niramaya and learnt how to use APIs and other frameworks.
What's next for Niramaya
We aim to further develop this web app and release the full-scale web app to people.
