Inspiration

In today’s fast-paced world, time is one of the most valuable resources. Phone-based payments have made transactions quicker and more convenient — but we believe it can be even faster.

That's why our team created Nimbus — a facial recognition-powered payment solution combined with Ecomust systems to accelerate the checkout process and help store owners manage their business more efficiently**.
By replacing card scans or phone taps with biometric authentication, Nimbus enables ultra-fast, secure, and contactless payments.

What it does

  • Nimbus is a technology to allow people quickly scan their faces and items in order to process to transaction. It also helps owner manages items left in the store after payments ## How we build it 🔹 Frontend
  • Next.js – React framework for fast and scalable UI.
  • Tailwind CSS – For seamless styling and responsiveness.
  • Node.js & TypeScript – For building a modern, well-structured web interface.

🔹 Backend

  • FastAPI – High-performance, modern backend web framework.
  • PostgreSQL** – Relational database for storing user data and transactions. ## Challenge we faced Finding & labeling data for training our face recognition model
  • Setting up and integrating the PostgreSQL database
  • Building and designing the web interface
  • Creating a logo and brand identity
  • Learning and applying new technologies like PostgreSQL
  • Managing API endpoints and communication between frontend and backend
