The Problem

Japanese learners face a fragmented study experience. They use one app for flashcards, another for kanji, another for quizzes — and nothing connects. Creating study materials from custom content (a news article, a manga panel, a textbook excerpt) is tedious and manual.

What NihongoSpark Does

Paste any Japanese text — or just describe a topic in English — and NihongoSpark generates four study tools simultaneously:

🃏 Flashcards Vocabulary cards with furigana, English meaning, and a flip animation. Cards you miss cycle back into the deck until you've mastered them all.

📝 Quiz 5 multiple-choice questions mixing vocabulary, readings, and fill-in-the-blank. Timed per question, with instant feedback and score summary.

🧠 Mind Map An interactive SVG mind map visualizing the key concepts and their relationships. Nodes are draggable and clickable for definitions.

⛩️ Kanji Breakdown — our signature feature For every kanji in the text:

  • Radical decomposition with meanings (e.g. 語 = 言 speech + 吾 I)
  • On'yomi and kun'yomi readings with example words
  • JLPT level badge (N5–N1)
  • AI-generated mnemonic story to make each kanji stick
  • Stroke count

Clicking any kanji card triggers a focused mini-quiz on that specific character.

📐 Grammar Pattern Spotter Detects JLPT grammar patterns (N5–N1) in the text, highlights them by level with color coding, and explains each pattern with an example sentence.

Why It's Different

Every flashcard generator can make cards. No generic tool combines kanji radical breakdown + AI mnemonics + grammar detection + quiz + mind map in a single-click workflow. NihongoSpark is built specifically for Japanese learners, not adapted from a generic study tool.
