Inspiration
We thought that there is not enough automatic job applications out there, and none of them works correctly. So we decided to make one that works. Most people submit applications during the day, so I made one that applies during the night.
What it does
You upload your resume, and then you tell it exactly what kind of job you want, whether you want a software engineer, whether you want other jobs.
And then it scans your resume, scrapes it, and then based on your skills and what you inputted, it automatically searches for jobs for you using Yuori API.
Then it automatically applies for you using TinyFish API that creates a customer's name and custom cover letter using Claude.
Additionally, we have Google MCP that checks the jobs' replies and it automatically learns what kind of changes work and what kind of changes don't. So, with time, it makes better agents.
How we built it
We build it on AWS Amplitude using Auth0 with TinyFish API and Yutori APIs.
Challenges we ran into
It was pretty hard to connect Yutori APIs to TinyFish APIs, but we made it work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're really proud that we got it to work, that it's great for resumes, and that it gives you custom job postings and automatically applies for you.
What we learned
We never used web scraping agents and we've never used web agents that automatically do things in a web for you. We're very proud that we got this to work and that we also got Google MCP
What's next for Nightshift
We're excited to get it going. We're excited to publish to Twitter and potentially see where it goes.
