Nightmare Fuel is a survival-horror genre 3d shooter. The goal is to survive as long as possible, but be warned- this is no easy task. The game incorporates real time ECG data to measure the player’s fear and adapts the game accordingly; as the player’s heart beat increases, weapon accuracy decreases and sound effects are made more intense in order to leave the player in a deeper state of distress. However, even if the player falls victim to fear it’s not game over just yet. Ammo replenishment rate also increases proportionally to their heart rate. The environment is also in tune with the player's fear, making the rain fall harder the more scared the player is. The game is built with Unity and the heart rate is measured with a BioAmp EXG Pill that is connected to an Arduino that sends the heart rate data to the computer.
