Our biggest concrete achievement during this hackathon was setting up a Chainlink node on Rinkeby and running our own test job. :) Thank you to Richard and Harry for your tutorials about nodes and external adapters!
Our initial inspiration for the Nifty New Chainlink External Adapter was “portable truth.” Chainlink nodes running our external adapter would have taken input from the blockchain, encoded it into a QR code, and returned the QR code in the form of SVG data, which would be used to mint an immutable, on-chain QR code NFT.
That proved to be overly ambitious for our skill sets, but we spent this hackathon learning much more about how Chainlink works, what APIs are, and how nodes use them. We've learned a lot, but we realize we have a lot more learning to do this summer. We’ll keep working and be back in the fall! Thank you for all the amazing resources and developer support, it’s been an amazing learning opportunity.
