Inspiration
We took inspiration from South Korea's Smart Bus Stops.
What it does
With Singapore's impending silver wave and our inspiration from South Korea, we wanted to improve our public transport system by incorporating technology, further playing a part in Singapore SMART Nation all while providing our elderly citizens a safer and easier experience when taking Singapore's public buses. Since our bus stops are unmanned and usually only have the digital arrival displays, we propose the Smart RFID Navigation Kiosk, a simplified navigational aid designed to bridge the digital divide. The system utilizes a personalized RFID card that stores the user's home or preferred destination. To use the system, commuters simply tap their card on the bus stop kiosk. The kiosk instantly reads the card, queries real-time transport data, and calculates the most direct route .
