Chainlink Integrated NFT Delivery System for Fine Jewelry and Gemstones
This project leverages the power of Chainlink, Google Maps API, Twilio API, and the concept of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to bring about a revolution in the delivery and certification of high-value items such as jewelry and gemstones.
Inspiration
Our inspiration was drawn from the research paper titled "NFT Certificates and Proof of Delivery for Fine Jewelry and Gemstones". We sought to integrate the concepts of this paper into a practical and usable solution.
Implementation
The initial part of the project involved creating an NFT marketplace and simulating interactions between the Google Maps API and a smart contract. Users receive delivery updates via the Twilio API, with messages detailing arrival time and distance covered.
On completion of the delivery, the system is designed to calculate the total distance and send corresponding "distance tokens" to the user. However, due to time constraints, we were not able to fully implement the token dispatch feature within the timeframe of the hackathon.
Current Status
At the time of project submission, we have successfully inscribed the contract, set up the NFT marketplace, and established the API-smart contract interaction. The project is at a stage where the Delivery Order Note (DON) communicates the necessary details, but the token sending part is still an ongoing work.
Team
This project is a result of the dedicated work of myself and one of my coworkers. We incorporated a more tangible touch by using one of the STL files from our current jewelry project. To see more of our work, visit Pepe y Matilda.
Future Work
Post-hackathon, our plans are twofold. Firstly, we aim to focus on debugging and testing to finalize the token dispatch functionality. This is crucial to complete the delivery process and ensure our users receive their deserved "distance tokens."
Secondly, we are eager to expand the application of our project by introducing a derivatives market for transportation. We envision a system where these distance tokens can be traded and used as a means of incentivizing efficient transportation. This could open up new possibilities for optimizing logistics and supply chain management, potentially transforming the entire high-value goods delivery sector.
We are proud of the progress made so far and are excited about the potential of this project. The journey has just begun, and we look forward to continuing on this path of innovation and transformation.
