This is a platform that combines NFT with coupons and integrates different stores, mainly to solve the problem of weak retail industry and insufficient consumer desire.

Inspiration
Short-term visitors to Hong Kong often struggle to find local shops of interest due to unfamiliarity and crowded retail spaces. Local retailers face challenges competing on price with Mainland Chinese products and lack an integrated platform for effective promotion. Traditional tea and coffee shops have stable but hard-to-grow customer bases.

What it does
NFT-Shop-APP is a novel digital platform combining NFTs and coupons designed for Hong Kong short-term visitors and local retailers. It aims to enhance shopping convenience and retail promotion by:

  • Offering limited-quantity coupons uniquely linked to NFTs, giving coupons collectible value.
  • Allowing NFT coupons to be used for discounts or freebies and automatically reclaimed upon use, but still tradable in the secondary market.
  • Providing an integrated frontend and UI that presents local shops and exclusive NFT deals clearly to users.
  • Featuring AI-powered coupon recommendations to help users discover local specialties and promotions.
  • Supporting bundled coupons to encourage customers to explore multiple shops.
  • Including a lottery feature where users can pay a small fee to try to win valuable NFTs or coupons, increasing engagement.

How we built it

  • Developed a visually appealing and user-friendly frontend interface for browsing shops and NFT coupons.
  • Designed the UI to simplify the experience for tourists and locals unfamiliar with NFTs.
  • Conceptualized the integration of blockchain-based NFTs with retail coupons to create a unique consumption model.
  • Planned smart contract implementation to automate NFT redemption and market functions (to be developed).
  • Integrated AI recommendation algorithms (planned for future development) to personalize user experience.

Challenges we ran into

  • Explaining the new NFT-coupon concept effectively through the UI to educate users.
  • Designing an intuitive interface suited for a diverse user base with varying tech familiarity.
  • Coordinating with merchants and planning backend blockchain integration (upcoming phase).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully designed and implemented the complete frontend UI and user flow for NFT-based coupon browsing.
  • Developed a clear product vision combining retail, NFTs, and digital promotions in a unified app.
  • Created prototype pages including NFT Deals showcasing limited coupons, Coupon Bundles for multi-store offers, Lottery, and Explore functions.

What we learned

  • A smooth UI and clear explanations are crucial for user adoption of novel digital assets like NFTs in retail.
  • Combining NFTs with coupons can creatively address retailer and tourist pain points.
  • Collaboration with retailers and educating users will be vital next steps for full platform launch.
