Overview
NFT Kingdoms will onboard the next million people onto the NFT space and into the Metis ecosystem.
NFT Kingdoms will be a fun platform to explore and also provide enterprises with the ability to showcase their business.
Most of the NFTs are focused on retail buyers. With NFT Kingdoms, we are looking to bring on more enterprise users with enterprise NFT utility features.
NFT Kingdoms will be a platform with multiple maps/lands that anyone can visit to explore NFTs of different themes.
Each map is owned by a NFT Kingdoms Lands NFT holder. And the holder will have the means of putting up an ad on the map.
Another utility NFT collection will be the NFT Kingdoms Explorers NFT. Holders will be able to upvote/downvote the ads on a map. This will provide self-governance on the NFT Kingdoms platform.
There will also be a NFT Kingdoms native for staking and rewarding platform users.
In-depth
There are several NFT collections which will launch on NFT Kingdoms. This will be a key aspect of sustainability. We will also launch a NFT Kingdoms token which will be used for renting NFTs and rewarding NFT holders.
Collections include:
- NFT Kingdoms Launch NFTs (holders will have membership privileges)
- NFT Kingdoms Land NFTs
- There will be new maps on NFT Kingdoms that are tied to Land NFTs. Explorers on NFT Kingdoms will be able to visit different maps and explore NFT of different themes.
- Each map is tied to a Land NFT, holder of the Land NFT of the map will be able to put up an ad (enterprise utility).
- Land NFTs can be rented out for native token rewards. Advertisers would want to rent the NFTs for putting up their ad on the map.
- NFT Kingdoms Explorer NFTs
- Generative profile picture. This could be a free or very low cost NFT for holders of the NFT Kingdoms Launch NFT.
- Holders will be able to vote on the ad on each map. Ads with a certain amount of downvotes will be blocked. This becomes a form of self-governance for the ads published on NFT Kingdoms. Everyone is able to play a part to keep the platform safe.
Moving into the further future, the NFT Kingdoms token will be used for:
- Staking to earn new tokens/NFTs (staked tokens will be re-invested in protocols to earn yield)
In summary, the project will be funded by NFT sales, native token sales, and yield from third party protocols.
Budget
We will need more time and development to bring NFT Kingdoms from beta to mainnet. And from a beta platform to an enterprise product.

Inspiration
Our objective is to provide new ways to attract more people into the NFT space. NFT Kingdoms is a platform for people to enjoy their NFTs, explore NFTs, and also buy exclusive membership NFTs that would bring about future utility for defi. We have been inspired by Defi Kingdoms, but we will take it further with focus a focus on NFT and advertising.
What it does
NFT Kingdoms is on Metis Stardust Testnet. There are 4 features right now - viewing NFTs from your wallet, exploring NFTs from around the world, minting Kingdom NFTs and 1 map.
How we built it
React, solidity, sheer grit and lots of coffee.
Challenges we ran into
There were some web3 package compatibility issues with webpack5. So we had to downgrade to webpack4. We found out about the METIS hackathon pretty late, so we went through 3 days learning and hacking to get this done. There wasn't a good library that can be used for loading up a wallet's NFTs, or loading up NFTs on the METIS network. So eventually, for this beta, we are loading up NFTs from the Ethereum network (Vitalik's collection!).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to launch a beta within 3-4 days.
What we learned
Tech – Solidity, React (and the issues with package incompatibilities), Pinata, Netlify. There's plenty of room for more dapps and adoption on the Metis ecosystem.
