Inspiration
As three young aspiring entrepreneurs and programmers, we are very passionate about creating unique projects that combine technology, business, and culture. NFT’s are a new step in the blockchain revolution. We were looking for ways to make the acquisition of NFTs special and fun. In our research and creative process, we began developing an idea for a type of scavenger hunt in the real world where players could acquire different NFTs from the blockchain. Along the way we had different names, various concepts and methods to bring our idea to life, when we finally settled on NFT-GPS and how it could operate, we knew we were onto something bigger than us. This game creates a whole new way to play and engage with reality while receiving benefits from the metaverse such as NFTs, discounts, and more.
What it does
NFT-GPS is a scavenger hunt in the blockchain merging the metaverse with reality. In the game, the user visits local landmarks or businesses, acquires unique NFTs by scanning QR codes, and receives different benefits such as discounts and access to cultural events. This game promotes the growth of the local economy and how business owners or artists can benefit from the blockchain. NFT-GPS is here to make acquiring NFTs fun, engaging, and competitive. Users can buy or sell unique badges and limited artist collaborations. With the format of time-limited seasons, players will only be able to acquire different badges, artist collaborations, landmarks, and more in a given period of time. The game will be built around a strong community looking to connect, show off their NFTs, and compete to acquire the latest drops.
How we built it
We built a three layer infrastructure system, using full stack development theory “HTML, CSS, JAVA SCRIPT” Third party organization resources “Google Drive, Canva, Typefrom, Adobe XD, Final Cut Pro, Google Map API, and Wix” Business and Logistic management in real world application “
Challenges we ran into
Original web server application with Flask, would not correctly communicate with client and server
Wordpress and plugin application, would not function correctly
Organization of documentation and process of building and reconstructing the system with least possible errors
Naming, branding, aesthetics, vision of the project. When we finally got it, it was a eureka moment
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making a detailed and realistically approachable Roadmap
Creating and organizing a playable in person experience
Creation of various documents that help organize and expand the project long-term
Creation and testing of NFT gifting transaction protocol, using Metamask and the polygon Blockchain
Creation of Documentation on how the projects earns capital
Obtaining support and guidance from 11 local companies in Puerto rico, that liked our project.
What we learned
In the process of creating NFT-GPS, we learned to bring an idea in mind to a product that was able to meet the proposed objectives and more. We also learned to implement different technologies such as; a dynamic map with our application and the compilation of information and transaction protocol for our project, to be able to send the NFT. We worked well under pressure and each member of the team was dedicated to their task. We strongly believe that this is just the beginning for our team. This experience pushed us to keep striving for growth and innovation with technology, business, and culture.
What's next for NFT-GPS
Our next step is to make this project a reality. We are determined to push through the growing pains of any start-up and have the necessary tools and work-ethic to scale this.
Some of our next steps will be:
Establish a network of business and artists to collaborate Establish the official locations for test-net Mint the NFT badges of season 0 Start phase one of marketing strategy Deploy season 0 test-net in old San Juan Creation of season events Implementation of first benefits to users Recover and analyze data of Season 0 Implementation of new Ideas and features to the test net Pre logistic management for Season 1 Close test-net of Season 0 Meet up with investor and collaborators, to discuss the objective and goals met in Season 0
