Inspiration
We wanted to destroy the side of the art industry that locks art away from the public so that the rich can profit off the increase in value.
What it does
The NFT museum is an interactive experience that allows the user to explore the world of NFT art through several exciting features:
- voice searches to find your perfect collection or discover new NFTs
- graphs and statistics to give you an idea of an NFTs market value
- draggable paintings that can be inspected from any angle
How we built it
We used a-frame to build the front end. A-frame is built on the WebGL library and so nearly any browser and hence nearly any VR device can access our website. Our backend is built on python and performs the indexing/scraping of NFTs and works out the best NFTs for a particular user.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of trouble finding NFT APIs that were open source and that provided high quality information since the space is so new. We also found VR technology a hassle to develop with as you cant easily write tests or see if features such as grabbing are working without putting on the headset.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to make a beautiful little art gallery with some funky art, and in the process came 1 step closer to crushing the billionaire art thieves of the world.
What we learned
We learned how to program a VR scene.
What's next for NFT Gallery
Next we'd like to expand the type of NFTs presented from flat art to 3D and animated art. We'd also like to include functionality to allow users to buy the art there and multiplayer functionality to allow users to display their gallery and visit a friend's gallery. We registered the domain nft-museum.tech, but were unable to use it due to account problems, so hope to be able to do this soon!
