NFT Art Contest

Inspiration

We are inspired by our love of NFT art and gaming. We desire a world where artists & creators can make a healthy living by doing what they love most: creating work for the world to see! Our love of art and gaming helped us marry these two domains in such a way where we felt everyone could benefit by participating! In effect, we decided to develop a platform where NFT artists can gain recognition by doing their best work and have the chance to win lucrative crypto prizes by engaging in friendly art competitions.

What it does

NFT Art Contest is a play to earn game where NFT artists compete for crypto and get discovered by the community. Artists join weekly art competitions by connecting their MetaMask wallet for a $5 entry fee and submitting their work to the site. Voters also connect their wallet and vote for their favorite NFTs for a fee of $.25/vote. Both the artist fees and voting fees are collected in a central wallet and distributed to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners at the end of the competition. As the competition heats up, so does the prize pool! Therefore, it's in the interest of artists to submit their best work and spread the word to their community as it will increase their chances of attracting more votes to win. On the other hand, it's in the interest of voters to participate as they will be supporting their favorite artists while also having a chance of winning their own set of lucrative prizes.

How we built it

We use a variety of web technologies and years of software engineering experience to bring this project to fruition. We wanted to use some of the most cutting edge app development technologies to increase our development speed and our ability to think of an idea and quickly turn it into production code. Also, not to mention, top talent loves great tech. We wanted to position our technology strategy to encourage the growth of our team.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge we ran into was being able to prioritize all the ideas we are constantly thinking of throughout the development process!! There are so many tweaks and even potentially pivots to the idea were are excited to play around with and test their adoption. We constantly have to remind ourselves to start small and keep it as simple as possible. Working with and listening to our users will help us power our next set of ideas forward.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Bringing this idea to reality and launching it! It's so so easy to daydream about an idea and say to yourself: "eventually I'll get around to working on it...." We did it! We're really proud about the natural genesis of this idea: from casually chatting about it, to prototyping it, and ultimately getting it production ready.

Continue to iterate on this idea, connect with our community to better understand their needs, and move forward: onwards and upwards! We're extremely motivated professionals and love to win. We're not stopping until we've found product-market fit and this app is a household name!
