Inspiration

In a world where people manage multiple projects, deadlines, tasks, and personal goals, important information often becomes scattered across different tools. Staying organised, remembering previous decisions, and consistently working towards long-term goals can be challenging. We wanted to explore a different approach: what if an AI assistant could become more than a chatbot? What if it could understand our context, remember important information, help organise projects, and guide us towards completing our goals?

That idea inspired NEXUS — Your Personal AI Workspace, a unified environment designed to bring personal context, intelligent assistance, project management, and execution together.

Our vision is to make AI a practical partner in everyday work, helping people move from simply asking questions to organising ideas and turning them into action.

What it does

NEXUS brings several productivity capabilities together in one workspace.

AI Assistant: Provides a central conversational interface for interacting with the workspace. Project Management: Organises projects and provides an overview of their progress. Task Management: Helps users track pending tasks, completed work, and outstanding responsibilities. Personal Memory: Organises useful information, preferences, and previous context for future reference. Goal Planner: Helps users structure long-term objectives into manageable steps. Workflow Management: Provides a dedicated space for organising and managing workflows. Human-in-the-Loop Approvals: Supports a review process for actions that require human oversight. Verification System: Provides a dedicated area for checking and reviewing workflow execution. Progress Dashboard: Brings project status, task statistics, active goals, and memory insights into one interface.

The central idea is to connect planning, memory, and execution within a single personal workspace rather than treating each activity as an isolated task.

How we built it

We approached NEXUS as a unified workspace rather than a collection of disconnected productivity tools.

We designed a dashboard that brings together project tracking, task management, goal planning, personal memory, workflow management, and approvals. The interface uses a dark visual theme, structured cards, progress indicators, and a dedicated navigation system to make information accessible without overwhelming the user.

We organised the experience around three core ideas:

Context: Keep useful information and personal preferences organised. Planning: Connect projects, tasks, and goals in one place. Execution: Provide a structured environment for workflows, approvals, and verification.

The architecture is intended to support an AI assistant that can work with relevant context and help users manage their activities more effectively.

Technologies used: Add the actual frontend framework, backend, database, AI model, and APIs used in your implementation. Explicitly identify the NVIDIA model and Nebius service if integrated.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was bringing multiple productivity concepts together without making the interface complicated.

Project management, personal memory, goal tracking, and workflow automation each have different requirements. Presenting them within a consistent experience required careful attention to navigation, information hierarchy, progress indicators, and the relationships between different components.

Another challenge was distinguishing between displaying information and making that information genuinely useful. A dashboard can show tasks and progress, but a useful personal AI workspace should eventually understand context, help users make decisions, and support meaningful actions.

We also recognised the importance of reliability and user control. An intelligent system should not only help users complete tasks but also make it possible to review important actions and verify results.

These challenges helped shape our approach to building NEXUS as a workspace focused on both usability and intelligent assistance.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have developed a unified interface that brings several important aspects of personal productivity into one environment.

Some of our key accomplishments include:

Creating a central dashboard for projects, tasks, goals, and progress. Designing a dedicated personal memory area for organising useful context. Bringing workflow management, approvals, and verification into the same workspace. Establishing a consistent dark-themed interface with clear navigation and visual progress indicators. Developing a broader vision for an AI assistant that can support users beyond individual conversations.

Most importantly, NEXUS represents our attempt to rethink how people interact with AI: not simply as a tool for answering questions, but as a potential partner in organising and accomplishing meaningful work

What we learned

Building NEXUS reinforced the importance of designing AI experiences around real user needs rather than adding AI simply because it is available.

We learned that personal context, memory, planning, and execution are closely connected. An assistant becomes more useful when it can work with relevant information instead of treating every interaction as an isolated conversation.

We also recognised the importance of clear interfaces, modular architecture, human oversight, and verification when designing systems intended to support real tasks.

Finally, we learned that a compelling AI workspace requires more than an attractive dashboard. Its real value depends on reliable integrations, useful context retrieval, meaningful actions, and measurable improvements to the user's workflow.

What's next for NEXUS — Your Personal AI Workspace

Our next goal is to evolve NEXUS from a unified productivity interface into a more capable personal AI workspace.

Our planned improvements include:

Intelligent Personal Memory: Improve how the system stores, retrieves, and uses relevant context. AI-Powered Planning: Help users transform high-level goals into actionable plans. Connected Workflows: Enable the assistant to work across projects and tasks rather than simply display information. Self-Verification: Introduce stronger mechanisms for checking whether actions have completed successfully. Human Oversight: Make approvals and user control central to important actions. Personalisation: Adapt the workspace to individual preferences, priorities, and working styles. NVIDIA and Nebius Integration: Use the appropriate NVIDIA open-source models and Nebius infrastructure to power the AI capabilities and evaluate their effectiveness. Reliable Deployment: Improve performance, security, and reliability as the project develops.

Our long-term vision is to create a personal AI workspace that helps people preserve what matters, understand what needs to be done, and make consistent progress towards their goals.

NEXUS is built around one idea: your AI should do more than answer you — it should help you move forward.
