NEXUS — Experience-Driven Autonomous Software Engineering Intelligence is an AI-powered software engineering system designed to make software development smarter, more reliable, and more autonomous. Unlike conventional AI coding tools that generate code in response to individual prompts, NEXUS follows a continuous development cycle: Plan → Build → Test → Diagnose → Repair → Learn. The system breaks a user's requirements into smaller tasks, generates code, executes tests, identifies failures, and attempts to fix them. It stores structured records of previous failures, successful repairs, and development strategies in persistent memory. When similar tasks arise, NEXUS retrieves relevant experiences and uses them to guide its next attempt. Its key innovation is the Experience Transfer Engine, which compares development attempts with and without previous experience to determine whether accumulated knowledge improves success rates, testing outcomes, and development efficiency. The goal is to move beyond one-time AI code generation toward an experience-driven software engineering system that can demonstrate measurable improvement over repeated tasks.
