🚀 Inspiration
Students today use multiple disconnected platforms for studying, coding, scheduling, assignments, interview preparation, and collaboration. Constantly switching between apps creates distractions, reduces productivity, and makes learning less effective.
We envisioned a future where students don't need dozens of tools—they need one intelligent AI companion that understands their academic journey, remembers their progress, and proactively helps them succeed.
That vision inspired Nexus AI, an AI Operating System for Students. Instead of being just another chatbot or learning platform, Nexus AI acts as a personalized AI workspace that plans, teaches, organizes, and grows alongside every student.

Uploaded documents are converted into embeddings and stored in a vector database. When users ask questions, Nexus AI retrieves the most relevant information before generating accurate, context-aware responses. Multiple AI agents collaborate behind the scenes to provide tutoring, planning, coding assistance, career guidance, and research support.
🚧 Challenges we ran into
Developing Nexus AI presented several technical and design challenges.
- Designing an AI-first experience instead of a traditional dashboard.
- Building an efficient Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline for educational content.
- Integrating voice, vision, and text interactions into a seamless workflow.
- Managing long-term AI memory while maintaining relevant responses.
- Orchestrating multiple AI agents to work together intelligently.
- Creating a clean, intuitive interface despite the platform's advanced capabilities.
These challenges encouraged us to think beyond building an AI chatbot and focus on creating an intelligent operating system for students.
