Inspiration
Edunity was born from the recognition that modern education faces significant challenges in accessibility, connectivity, and resource distribution. We observed that students often struggle to find local learning resources, connect with peers, and access quality educational content. We wanted to make something that will help all the students and give them an opportunity to achieve success.
What it does
Edunity is a comprehensive educational platform that:
- Student Support Hub: Provides a centralized location for accessing educational resources, featuring an intuitive interface with dynamic animations and responsive design
- Learning Center Finder: Helps students discover local learning centers and educational resources in their area through an interactive map interface
- Micro-Jobs Platform: Connects students with flexible part-time opportunities like online tutoring, content writing, and research assistance
- Educational Resources Hub: Offers curated links to high-quality learning materials across different subjects: Programming resources (freeCodeCamp, W3Schools, Codecademy) Mathematics resources (Khan Academy, Mathway, Wolfram Alpha) Science resources (NASA STEM, National Geographic, PhET Simulations)
How we built it
To build Edunity we used: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for the core interface, Bootstrap for responsive layouts and components, Custom CSS variables for consistent theming, Font Awesome for iconography, Used Python as the main development language before converting it to web, We also use Flask for the purpose of backend.
Challenges we ran into
- Cross-browser Compatibility: Ensuring consistent behavior of glassmorphism effects and animations across different browsers.
- Integration: Integrating different features to link with each other with the same theme.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a functional education platform that guides students throughout their whole education journey, successfully integrated multiple external educational resources into a unified platform also developed an intuitive learning center finder with Google Maps integration.
What we learned
Advanced CSS techniques including glassmorphism and custom properties, Integration of third-party services and APIs, and the value of creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
What's next for Edunity
