We wanted to create a platform that allows people to relive holiday decisions through an alternate lens, helping them explore what might have been, but with a heartwarming, holiday-themed twist.

What it does

Holiday StoryCraft by Nexur.ai lets users immerse themselves in alternate holiday scenarios, exploring "what-if" moments from various holiday experiences. Whether it's a last-minute change in travel plans, a surprise gift exchange, or a family dinner mishap, the platform uses AI to generate engaging and personalized holiday stories based on real-time decisions. Users can interact with the stories, adjust their choices, and witness how different paths lead to unique holiday outcomes—whether it’s a perfect vacation, a family reunion full of surprises, or an unexpected holiday adventure.

How we built it

We built Holiday StoryCraft by expanding our existing Nexur.ai platform with a focus on holiday-themed narratives. By integrating GPT-3 and Hume AI, we tailored the stories not only to respond to users' decisions but also to their emotions and mood, reflecting the warmth, excitement, or nostalgia often associated with the holidays. The system incorporates decision trees based on common holiday scenarios, allowing users to craft personalized stories. Additionally, the platform provides visually rich holiday settings, enhancing the emotional connection and offering users a playful yet reflective escape into alternate holiday realities.

Challenges we ran into

Creating holiday-themed content with the right balance of fun, sentiment, and surprise was one of the challenges we faced. Holidays are filled with deep personal significance, and we had to ensure that the generated stories felt authentic, relatable, and emotionally engaging. Another challenge was fine-tuning the emotional adaptation through Hume AI, making sure the system recognized the user's mood and adjusted the holiday stories accordingly, whether the user was feeling festive, nostalgic, or contemplative.
