Inspiration
Travel planning is often spread across multiple apps for bookings, budgeting, messaging, maps, and recommendations. We created NEXTRIP to bring everything into one intelligent platform that makes planning, managing, and enjoying travel simpler and more connected.
What it does
NEXTRIP is an all-in-one travel platform that helps users discover destinations, generate personalized trip plans, manage budgets, collaborate with friends, track expenses, explore experiences, and organize their entire journey from a single dashboard.
How we built it
We built NEXTRIP using Next.js 15, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Prisma ORM, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, and Vercel. The platform uses a scalable full-stack architecture designed for performance and future growth.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was combining multiple travel tools into one seamless experience while keeping the interface simple and intuitive. We also focused on creating a scalable database structure for trips, itineraries, expenses, and user collaboration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of building a unified travel ecosystem that combines trip planning, budgeting, collaboration, destination discovery, and travel management in one platform. We also created a strong foundation for future expansion and monetization.
What we learned
We learned how important it is to design around real user problems and create workflows that simplify complex travel planning tasks. We also gained valuable experience building scalable, production-ready applications.
What's next for NEXTRIP
Next, we plan to add direct booking integrations, enhanced personalization, mobile apps, real-time travel alerts, creator marketplaces, rewards programs, and additional AI-powered travel assistance features to further improve the travel experience. ✈️🌍🚀
