Inspiration
Wellness apps often ask for more attention at exactly the moment a person has the least to give. Long libraries, streaks, dashboards, and perfect routines can turn care into another task. Next Ten starts with a smaller promise: tell it how you feel, where you are carrying tension, and how much time you actually have. It gives you one useful thing to do next.
What it does
Next Ten turns three quick signals - energy, body tension, and available time - into a focused movement, breathing, or recovery plan. Each plan is broken into calm, timed cues with an animated pacing surface. There are no streak penalties and no crowded content feed.
The free experience includes a useful daily reset. Next Ten Pro unlocks adaptive weekly plans, the full movement and recovery library, gentle progress patterns, and new guided resets. A seven-day trial lets judges and new users experience the complete product before paying.
How we built it
Next Ten is built with React Native, Expo, and TypeScript for iOS and Android. The interface uses a responsive native layout, custom plan-generation logic, haptic transitions, and an animated session timer.
RevenueCat is part of the product architecture rather than a decorative checkout. The app checks the active next_ten_pro entitlement at launch, reads the current offering so pricing can be changed without an app release, purchases the configured annual package, and supports restore purchases. Premium packaging matches the product's low-pressure philosophy: one clear annual plan with a trial, no confusing tier matrix, and no artificial countdown.
Challenges we ran into
The hardest product problem was information restraint. A wellness app can easily become a content catalog; Next Ten needed to remain useful while showing only the next decision. The plan builder therefore reduces the input to three signals and presents one recommendation, while still creating meaningful variation in pacing and cues.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- A complete check-in-to-completion flow that can be used one-handed
- Personalized routines across energy, tension, and time combinations
- A calm animated timer with haptic step transitions
- A real RevenueCat entitlement, offering, purchase, and restore architecture
- An original store-ready visual identity and icon
What we learned
Monetization works best when it follows the value boundary users already understand. The free reset proves the core promise immediately; Pro expands continuity and personalization. RevenueCat makes that boundary easy to evolve without coupling product experiments to release cycles.
What's next for Next Ten
Next Ten will add on-device routine feedback, accessibility-first audio cues, and adaptive weekly planning based on what genuinely helps. The goal is not more time in the app. It is a better next ten minutes outside it.
Category fit
Yoga & Fitness - Simone Sharice: Next Ten personalizes movement and recovery to the user's present energy, tension, and available time. It converts those needs into one achievable plan for today and deliberately avoids content overload.
RevenueCat Design Award: The app uses expressive editorial typography, tactile color, a breathing animation, haptic transitions, and a restrained one-decision-at-a-time interface.
HAMM Award: The model uses a free daily reset to demonstrate value and a single annual subscription with a seven-day trial. RevenueCat offerings allow pricing and packaging to evolve without an app update, while entitlement state keeps premium access consistent across reinstalls.
RevenueCat Peace Prize: Next Ten makes simple recovery support accessible without shame, streak pressure, calorie tracking, or an expensive upfront commitment. Short plans can fit into work breaks, caregiving, study, or periods of low energy.
