Inspiration:

As high school students ourselves, we understand the overwhelming nature of the college application process. We witnessed friends and classmates stressed over deadlines, essays, and navigating the myriad of requirements from different colleges. This inspired us to create a solution that simplifies this journey for future applicants. We wanted to ensure that no student feels lost or overwhelmed during such a pivotal time in their lives.

What we learned

We learned the importance of user feedback in creating effective tools, developed our teamwork and project management skills, gained hands-on experience in web development, and discovered how to navigate challenges with resilience and adaptability.

What it does

Throughout this project, we learned invaluable lessons about teamwork, project management, and user-centered design. Collaborating closely allowed us to harness each other’s strengths and ideas, leading to a more comprehensive and effective product. We also gained insights into web development, including how to create user-friendly interfaces and manage data effectively.

How we built it

our team began by brainstorming features that would address common pain points faced by students during the application process. We conducted surveys and interviews with peers to gather feedback and refine ideas. After finalizing our features, we utilized web development tools and programming languages to bring our vision to life. the process involved coding the application, designing user interface, and integrating essential functionalities like checklists,reminders and resources section.

Challenges we ran into

One of our main challenges was ensuring that our website was user-friendly and accessible to all students, regardless of their tech-saviness. We also faced time constraints , as balancing schoolwork and the project was difficult. additionally, we encountered technical issues during the development phase, which required us to troubleshoot and adopt quickly.

Through persistence and collaboration, we overcame these obstacles, and we are proud of the final product we created. Our hope is that Next stop: challenge will empower high school students to navigate the collage application process with confidence and ease.

What's Next for Next Stop: College!

Moving forward, we plan to gather user feedback to continuously improve our features and user experience. We aim to expand our resources section to include more financial aid and scholarship information. Additionally, we’re exploring partnerships with schools and guidance counselors to reach a wider audience. We also intend to implement new features based on user requests, such as a community forum for students to share tips and experiences. Our goal is to evolve Next Stop: College into a comprehensive platform that supports students throughout their entire college journey.
