Our hackathon project addresses a critical need for improved language access at Charles River Community Health (CRCH), where 75% of patient visits require translation services. By creating a program that certifies Brandeis students as medical interpreters, we aim to fill gaps in CRCH's translation services, reduce reliance on costly telehealth interpreters, and improve patient outcomes. This initiative also provides students, especially those on pre-med tracks, with valuable clinical hours, certifications, and hands-on experience, aligning with Brandeis' mission to enhance career-focused learning opportunities.
